 How To Begin A Personal Relationship with Christ |
1. Admit your need – tell God you recognize you are a sinner, you understand there is not anything you can do to save yourself and cry out to God for the forgiveness of your sins.
Romans 3:23 “…for all have sinned and fall short
of the glory of God,”
2. Believe in Jesus Christ alone to save you – believe in Jesus Christ, that He is the perfect Son of God who died to save you of all your sins. Place your faith in His sacrifice to save you.
Romans 10:9 “It you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
3. Accept God’s free gift of salvation – Don’t try to earn it.
Eph. 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”
4. Invite Christ into your life – take a step of faith and receive Christ into your life.
John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”
A sample prayer to receive Christ as your Lord and Savior:
“Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for making me and loving me, even when I’ve ignored you and gone my own way. I realize I need you in my life and I’m truly sorry for all the sins in my life. I ask you to forgive me. I know because of Your love for me, You died on the cross and were raised from the dead. As much as I know, I want to follow you from now on. Please come into my life and make me a new person inside. I accept your free gift of salvation. Please help me to grow as a Christian. In Jesus' name, Amen.”
Romans 10:13
“Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
